Glenn Ansley is an owner / developer at Full Throttle Development, based in Wake Forest, NC. Although he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the area of religion, his love for learning new skills and problem solving made web programming a natural fit. While working on his master’s degree, Glenn obtained a job in the IT industry as a desktop technician. Between changing printer cartridges and showing secretaries how to restart their computers, Glenn taught himself PHP, MySQL, and began developing web sites with WordPress. After receiving the opportunity to redesign one of his graduate school’s sites with WordPress, he was transferred to the development office where he continued to pursue his PHP skills along with other
web technologies.

After earning his master’s degree, Glenn moved into full time freelance development, starting FullThrottle as a sole proprietorship. After successfully earning a living developing WordPress plugins for a year and a half, he has now gone into business with four other developers. FullThrottle continues to create high quality websites for businesses and organizations as well as custom WordPress plugins for those who need to extend the functionality of
WordPress.

Glenn is excited to be presenting “WordPress as a Factory: The Fundamentals of Plugin Development” at WordCampRDU. He knows first hand the chore it can be to transition from making minor WordPress tweaks to extending its functionality in the most efficient and future proof manner. He is excited to share his own mistakes and successes with other RDU WordPressers.

Glenn and his wife Kriste live outside of Raleigh, NC with their two daughters. Most of their spare time is spent with family and friends.
